Best Places to Lead · Culture

How do I build a culture people want to work in?

I host Best Places to Lead because I believe every company has the potential to be great, and culture is where that starts. One of the companies I led won Best Places to Work while making the Inc. 5000 twice, so these episodes are about cultures that perform, not cultures that just feel nice.

Questions

What does this theme cover?

Ownership thinking, mission-driven companies, transparency, deliberate leadership, doing good while growing, and the mindset that empowers a team. The theme is building a place people want to work that also wins.

Which episode should I start with?

Start with Ep 1, How to Make the INC 500 and Win Best Place to Work Award: World Premier, because it’s the world premiere of the show and the origin story: how to make the Inc. 500 list and win a Best Place to Work award at the same time.

How do I listen?

Every episode is at bestplacestolead.com and on YouTube; the show’s hub on this site is /podcast/.

Every episode of the show, across all themes, is on the Best Places to Lead hub. If you want the framework I teach on this question, it’s Culture Casualties on ProvenChaos.
